GREAT PLAINS WOODCARVERS CONSTITUTION

PURPOSE

GREAT PLAINS WOODCARVERS was formed to provide any atmosphere where woodcarvers and others can meet, exchange ideas and knowledge. It shall function as a non-profit organization for the purpose of providing carving activities. Funds received (including dues) shall be used to meet the operating expenses of the club.

ARTICLE I – MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in woodcarving or wood arts including wood turning and pyrography.

ARTICLE III – EXECUTIVE BOARD

Section 1. The Executive Board shall be composed of the current elected officers, the Immediate past- president and the program chairman if appointed.

ARTICLE V – AMENDMENTS

Section 1.  Proposed amendments shall be submitted in writing to the Executive Board by any member of the organization.   The Executive Board will review the proposed amendment and determine when or if to submit the proposed amendment per Section 2.  If the Executive Board decides not to submit the proposed amendment, the member submitting the request will be notified and an explanation for non-submittal will be provided to the member.

Section 2.  Proposed amendments shall be published in the monthly bulletin and presented to the club members for discussion and vote at the next regular meeting.   Two-thirds vote of member’s present required to approve.
