GREAT PLAINS WOODCARVERS BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I – MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Members
- All members shall be notified of monthly meetings either by email or hard copy sent by mail.
ARTICLE V – DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Section 2. Vice-President: The Vice-President shall assume all duties of the President in the absence of the President and other duties as assigned
Section 3. Secretary: The Secretary shall record the minutes of the Executive Board meetings and all regular monthly meetings. Keep membership roll current. Publish a monthly bulletin and other duties as assigned.
Section 4. Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be responsible for all monies of the organization. Collect dues, pay all legitimate bills, keep an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements and other duties as assigned.
ARTICLE VI – EXECUTIVE BOARD
Section 2. By majority vote, the Executive Board may select a member to fill the unexpired term of the Vice-President, Secretary or Treasurer. Said appointee shall not be prevented from serving two terms as an elected officer. *For clarification, two terms means two (1 year) terms in addition to the amount of time required to satisfy the appointment to the unexpired term.
Section 3. The Show Chairman shall be appointed by the Executive Board. The Show Chairman may be any current member of the Great Plains Woodcarvers having been a dues paying member for one (1) year, including any officer. The term of the Show Chairman will be determined by the Executive Board on a year-to-year basis. In the event a viable Show Chairman candidate is not appointed; the duties of the Show Chairman may be assumed by the Executive Board.
Section 4. By unanimous vote, the Executive Board shall have the authority to distribute club funds up to $200 each occurrence, in support of woodcarving activities other than those usually funded each year. Special fund requests beyond the $200 limit must be approved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of members present during any regularly scheduled club business meeting. Any special funds distributed will be reported in the newsletter for membership notice.
